Evolution is a good thing. At least that's my excuse for all the tweaks on the comments form. We've taken onboard your suggestions and...ummm...comments (:D) and come up with what we're currently testing on Jide's photoblog alakija.shutterchance.com. Look forward to your thoughts.
The second development is something that digitalmike rightfully vocalised - allowing users to set a default setting in the preferences for the ShMood. So, we've implemented it. Except, as the code was introduced in the same version as the new blog look, you will only have access to it from tommorrow/day-after-tommorrow - d'oh!
I don't know what I'm doing wrong but when I upload a new picture, the previous one goes as unassigned and does not show up in my list of photos. I use a Mac and safari and firefox as browsers and have the same problem with both.
John: Nothing you were doing wrong and rather a philosophy when uploading we thought we had changed though it appears during one of our developments we inadvertently re-introduced it. Let me explain: previously (and apparently still) we use to have it that when you upload a photo it automatically sets the date for the day you uploaded it. When you then submitted, it would replace whatever photo you had set for that same date and make the replaced photo unassigned (like you have experienced). If you did not want this to happen, you had to choose not to assign a date to the photo you had just uploaded. But we agree this causes confusion.
So, now (or in 2hr's time when we propagate the change), when you upload a photo, it will be by default set to "unassigned". You will have to actively choose which date you want to set it for (though if you set it for a date that already has a photo assigned, that photo will be replaced and set as unassigned). The point of unassigned photos means that you can upload numerous photos but not necessarily immediately have to specify the date for it to appear (e.g. you've got a great shot on a sunny theme but it being England, you cannot tell when it is best suited to display).
Hope this wasn't too convoluted (I tend to be convoluted, I think.)
