winner of the first of 2 weekly e-card competition/lottery: REZA

So, congratulations, to Reza (a shutterchance member no less!). He will be contacted within 2 weeks time to receive the £100. Just to let you know, we had 186 ecards sent over this first round and no one complaining of spam so everyone sending e-cards behaved well -phew!-cheers.

Don't forget, the second -and final- round has already started, so send e-cards like crazy for a chance to win £100!

Now after that excitement, you may be wondering what this domain is about. Well, as we're still continously developing new features (which are hopefully benefiting the users) and the members directory page is running out of space (you may have noticed some rather cryptic messages on updates). This, along with the fact we want to allow you, the photobloggers, easier access to providing input and thoughts on shutterchance, we have therefore created this blog!

As you can tell it's in essence a dehydrated version of the photoblog system for ease of use (and we didn't really have the time to develop from the ground up a blogging system ;)). I'll endeavour to update this regularly and will principally be talking about the technical side of developing the site. Please do feel free to comment and pose questions. That's about it for me.

....I...won!? This is the first time in the history of existance that a person named Hamid Reza Djangi has ever won anything for anything. Boy....I... .Well, I'd like to thank God, My parents, Shutterchance....lol, ok i'll stop right there.

You guys rock!

How many ecards did you send Reza?

Pete Marshall from Great Britain (UK) 6 June 2006, 00:04

You are aware of course dear chap, that £100 at present exchange rates is actually only worth $2.78? So you may wish to donate the cash to a worthy cause (ie me)

Reza from United States 6 June 2006, 00:08

I think I just soiled myself. 278 smackaroos. I...I still cant believe this.

Jide, my man, I sent about...15-20 ecards. Give or take a few. I was bored and gathered up all my friends emails and families emails near and far and I spent a good hour or two sending them.

Can we resend to the same emails? Or do they have to be new one? I would try to shoot for new ones, like my coworkers, but I'll see

SHUTTERCHANCE ROCKS!
John: Just looked at the collected data, and because of your diligence at sending e-cards the odds were stacked in favour of you. You played the game well and it seems you got your just reward.

To answer your Q, the rules we agreed on is that you can resend to the same e-mail addresses every new day (just as long as they don't complain of spam - then you get disqualified from the comp). Also remember, if you get those people to also send e-cards thereafter, that will count as another entry for you. For the full rules check out e-card competition.

Reza, I'll contact you within two week to get your paypal details.

Inye, thanks for the heads up. I'll know what to do with Pete once I learn how to hack computers and get into back accounts. I'll just take the remaining dough from his account. Maybe a lil more.

The Maven from Great Britain (UK) 7 June 2006, 02:14

Congratulations Reza! I really love this phrase "...history of existance that a person named Hamid Reza Djangi has ever won anything...". I've never won any sweepstakes before in my life either. So I can identify with the feeling. Then again, that's to be expected with a name like "The Maven"...

Pete Marshall from Great Britain (UK) 7 June 2006, 23:28
